From October 20th to 24th, all current members of the LDES Lab visited the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) for multiple purposes. On October 21st, we were welcomed by the UIC’s Lab for Language, Cognition and Computation, led by Professor Gyu-Ho Shin. This was our second lab exchange event after the Lab for LCC's visit to Iowa City back in March. During the event, members of both lab gave short presentations about their own projects and received feedback from the audience. The event was followed by Nozomi's talk as part of the UIC's lecture series on Linguistics and Language.
We stayed in Chicago for two more days to attend the Bilingualism Forum along with our colleagues from UI's Multilingual Syntax Lab. We learned a lot from the presentations and enjoyed engaging in discussion with other participants of the BilForum.
